On June 24, 2025, a delegation of Dutch government officials visited Japan in conjunction with the “Health and Well-being” thematic week of Expo 2025 in Osaka. In coordination with their visit, a site tour of regenerative medicine-related facilities located in Haneda Innovation City and the King Skyfront area of Tonomachi was organized.
In the afternoon of the same day, a joint seminar on regenerative medicine was held, co-hosted by the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine (JSRM), the Cluster for Regenerative Medicine in Tonomachi Haneda, and Health~Holland.
The site visit featured key facilities contributing to the development of an international hub for regenerative medicine in the Haneda-Tonomachi area, including:

  • Fujita Health University Tokyo Advanced Medical Research Center
  • CO-CREATION PARK “KAWARUBA”
  • National Institute of Health Sciences
  • Keio University Regenerative Medicine Research Center

The afternoon seminar addressed “Challenges and Prospects for Accelerating Patient Access to Regenerative Medicine,” brought together experts from both Japan and the Netherlands.
Through discussion and information-sharing on regulatory systems, technological developments, and policy initiatives in both countries, the seminar provided a valuable opportunity to explore future possibilities for international collaboration in regenerative medicine.

The host and speakers are listed below (in speaking order)

  • Prof. Shigeto Shimmura(Fujita Health University)
  • Prof. Kohji Nishida(JSRM / Osaka University)
